This book does an inspirational job discussing real life and the struggles that individuals face in the world when coming of age, falling in love, finding God in personal life and relationships, and during marriage, even in the face of adversity. I love the way it shines a light on a real marriage instead of the “Instagram” portrayal that lives all over the internet. Marriage is messy and beautiful all at the same time, and the authors embrace both parts.
Christina and Javier's insights are told through very heartfelt, vulnerable stories, which I read almost completely in one sitting. It only takes a marriage license to get married, but many people do not realize the complexity of the journey of two people joining their lives together as one unit. I love the fact that they suggest the reading to singles wanting to be in a committed relationship.
